Working with Adelphi’s expert business faculty and alumni, students from about two dozen high schools across Nassau and Suffolk counties will learn essential and relevant marketing components and how to successfully develop a marketing plan. They’ll have the opportunity to put their newly-learned skills to the test as they work collaboratively in teams to develop a marketing plan based on sample case assignments. In one sample case assignment, students will have to successfully develop a marketing plan for a new Snapple health beverage line targeted at athletic-minded customers, and in another, students must market a new independent holiday film set in New York City.
A new conference format provides students with a fun, hands-on, interactive learning experience, while engaging their critical business skills. Teams must strategize and work diligently. They will present their chosen marketing plan to a team of judges (sans Donald Trump), and the team that proves to have the most successful marketing plan will be awarded the coveted title of “Adelphi Apprentice.”
There are three judges for the event, all of whom are Adelphi University alumni: Scott Cohen works for Deutsch Inc. in New York City; Gloria Luna is currently consulting in the world of New York fashion and retail marketing; and Jeff Feith, founder of Icon Technologies, a predecessor to Business Solution Partners, which specializes in computer hardware and network implementation services.
Jeff Feith is currently one of the Principal owners, Marketing and Art Director of Business Solution Partners located in Roslyn, New York.
